Environmental Education at the German Wind Power Museum
The German Wind Power Museum participated in the Life House Stemwede holiday activities with the event “From Wind to Electricity – Introduction to Renewable Energies.” On October 22, 2024, a group of several schoolchildren visited the German Wind Power Museum. The tour began with a guided tour of the outdoor grounds. The elementary school-aged children were very interested in the existing wind turbines and how they work. After the extensive tour, the experimental course began, using special experiment kits available at the museum. These enabled a playful experience of the basic principles of energy generation from renewable sources. The course covered wind power, as well as solar and hydropower. At the end of the course, there was a tour of the grounds before the children were picked up by their parents. The participants’ feedback was positive, and the museum also draws a positive conclusion and would like to participate in future Life House events.
