Visit by VfB Fabbenstedt
On Saturday, June 14, 2025, VfB Fabbenstedt visited the German Wind Power Museum in Stemwede-Oppendorf around 3 p.m. Despite the midsummer temperatures of over 32 degrees Celsius, the group was in good spirits and interested in the technical history of wind energy use.
The club members, accompanied by some family members, were warmly welcomed by the museum team. After a brief introduction, the tour began through the extensive outdoor grounds, where numerous historic wind turbines and technical components are on display. Particularly impressive were the imposing rotors, machine parts, and original components from several decades of wind power history.
The tour took place despite the heat – albeit with several short breaks in the shade. The old trees on the grounds provided a refreshing coolness. The museum tour was designed to be flexible to accommodate the high temperatures. Refreshments were provided, which were gratefully accepted by the visitors.
Interest was high – many visitors asked specific questions and showed particular interest in the pioneering era of wind energy in Germany. Since the museum focuses on authentic outdoor exhibits, the tour was manageable despite the summer conditions.
Around 5 p.m., the group said goodbye – not without warmly thanking the Wind Power Museum team for the informative and engaging tour. The visit was a successful outing for everyone involved, one that will remain fondly remembered despite the heat.
