{"id":1023,"date":"2021-08-17T22:49:52","date_gmt":"2021-08-17T20:49:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deutsches-windkraftmuseum.de\/en\/?p=1023"},"modified":"2022-02-23T03:53:49","modified_gmt":"2022-02-23T02:53:49","slug":"enercon-20-exotic-blade-arrived","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deutsches-windkraftmuseum.de\/en\/blog\/2021\/08\/17\/enercon-20-exotic-blade-arrived\/","title":{"rendered":"Enercon-20: New exotic blade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, August 13, the German Windpower Museum managed to win another truly unique exhibit:<\/p>\n<p>The blade of an Enercon E-20, fully made of aluminium, was prepared and loaded at the Enercon factory in Aurich and sent to the museum in Stemwede.<\/p>\n<p>The 10m blade is silver\/light-greyish coloured and features all the Enercon typical specialties like the Albert Betz ideal blade geometry for higher output or the folded blade tips for noise reduction.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1085\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1085\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/deutsches-windkraftmuseum.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/E-20_Blatt.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1085 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/deutsches-windkraftmuseum.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/E-20_Blatt.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"414\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1085\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The 10m aluminium blade on the premises of the museum. Jaeger<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The blade was atually designed for the small-scale machine Enercon-20 &#8211;\u00a0 a 100kW turbine placed on a tube tower for application on farms, remote areas or developing countries. The machine came out as a prototype in 2007, but never went into serial production. Less than five were poduced.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1082\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1082\" style=\"width: 263px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/deutsches-windkraftmuseum.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/Aurich-Walle001.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1082\" src=\"http:\/\/deutsches-windkraftmuseum.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/Aurich-Walle001.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"263\" height=\"402\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1082\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Enercon-20 prototype in Aurich-Walle in August 2007. Jaeger<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Another fact is the Enercon E-20 was fully stall-controlled in contrast to the whole Enercon portfolio of the 2000s &#8211; with exception of the even smaller E-10.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1084\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1084\" style=\"width: 263px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/deutsches-windkraftmuseum.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/E20-Simonswohlde.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1084\" src=\"http:\/\/deutsches-windkraftmuseum.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/E20-Simonswohlde.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"263\" height=\"405\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1084\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">One of the few E-20: Pictured a unit in Simonswohlde near Emden. Jaeger<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The aforementioned aerodynamical features are major milestones in the technological development of Enercon and were applied thousands of timed across the world.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;tiny&#8221; 10m aluminium blade demonstrates all these milestones &#8220;on eye-level&#8221; and hands-on.<\/p>\n<p>Taking into account the progressive technology and the fact that Enercon-founder, Mr. Aloys Wobben, has recently died making an era end, the seemingly meaningless blade turns out to be of high importance.<\/p>\n<p>The project was initiated by museum manager Jaeger.
