{"id":1184,"date":"2022-09-12T15:44:01","date_gmt":"2022-09-12T13:44:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deutsches-windkraftmuseum.de\/en\/?p=1184"},"modified":"2025-10-20T15:47:57","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T13:47:57","slug":"1st-place-in-the-science-video-award-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deutsches-windkraftmuseum.de\/en\/blog\/2022\/09\/12\/1st-place-in-the-science-video-award-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"1st Place in the Science Video Award 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This year, Zukunft durch Innovation.NRW (ZDI), Europe&#8217;s largest STEM network, launched a competition for the third time, inviting young filmmakers from North Rhine-Westphalia to submit their media products related to science.<br \/>\nAssociation member Sarah Spreen from Arrenkamp won first prize in the &#8220;Best Design&#8221; category.<\/p>\n<p>Background:<br \/>\nSeveral years ago, Sarah shot a video about the Lagerwey LW10.6\/20 and uploaded it to YouTube. A QR code was attached to the Lagerwey&#8217;s gondola, which leads to the video via smartphone. The director of a film crew that was on the museum grounds in June 2022 as part of the &#8220;REACT-EU&#8221; funding program noticed Sarah&#8217;s video and encouraged her to participate in the Science Video Competition.<\/p>\n<p>The competition:<br \/>\nThe awards were given to short films and videos that addressed the STEM topics of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology and communicated them to the public in a creative and humorous, relaxed way.<br \/>\nThe prizes in the categories<br \/>\n\u2022 Best Design<br \/>\n\u2022 Reuse<br \/>\n\u2022 Best Science Clip<br \/>\n\u2022 Best Explanation<br \/>\n\u2022 Funniest Video<br \/>\nwere presented to the young winners by the competition&#8217;s patron, Ina Brandes, Minister of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/deutsches-windkraftmuseum.de\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Video-Award_2022_ext.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1188\" src=\"https:\/\/deutsches-windkraftmuseum.de\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Video-Award_2022_ext.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"745\" height=\"1204\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nImage 1: The winner&#8217;s certificate for Sarah Spreen at the 2022 Science Video Award.<\/p>\n<p>Since Sarah is currently in Canada for a year of high school, she was unable to accept the award in person.
