Notes on Visiting

Special Information

  • Dogs and other animals should only be allowed to run freely in the outdoor exhibition area. Assistance dogs are exempt from this.
  • Please do not climb on and/or in our exhibits.
  • During these opening hours, museum visitors can also use the free charging station for electric cars and the free rapid charging station for e-bikes to recharge using 100% renewable energy.

Opening Hours

  • The museum is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide information on climate change at any time.
  • The grounds are automatically illuminated upon entry at night, allowing visitors to read the self-explanatory display panels and information posted on the walls.
  • QR codes are also available for further information on the exhibits. Two outdoor touchscreen monitors can also be operated by touch at any time.

Guided Tours

  • Guided tours are available Monday to Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., subject to prior registration. Other dates are available by arrangement.

Mobility Restrictions

The German Wind Power Museum is barrier-free throughout its entire indoor and outdoor grounds.

Photography, Film, and Audio Recordings

  • Photography and filming for private purposes are permitted. Recordings of any kind for commercial and/or scientific purposes are only permitted with written permission.

Photographs and video recordings are taken during museum operations and may be published for reporting purposes (print, online, social networks). Processing and dissemination are carried out in compliance with the legitimate interests of the German Wind Power Museum in processing for journalistic purposes, taking into account the interests, fundamental rights, and freedoms of the data subjects. By entering the building, you consent to the free publication of your photographs without the need for an explicit consent from the person concerned. If you do not agree to a photograph being taken, please speak to our photographers on-site.
